The DP must cross the Rubicon on January 8th

This civil war within the DP ended with the necessary police benevolence and tear gas, while the defenders against Berisha have now turned into his biggest pathetic supporters.

When more than that, in the last few years, there has been no hope from the DP and the various opposition actors for the return of the opportunity for power. They have already started to think, offer themselves (to the diplomatic ether), and propose new people for the coveted position of prime minister. Rama must be recognized for an extraordinary merit that will be difficult to achieve by his successors in his seat: Increasing the credits and greed of this position.

Where you can have everything in your hands, subjugate institutions, feel the power of a power inaccessible to voters, and travel, meet, and speak with personalities from all fields, a desire, however small, that every intellectual would remember for a lifetime.

And, if things are projected as the DP thinks, in fact they often refer the end of Rama to an imaginary time threshold, but he emerges stronger and extends and increases his power more, Rama's place will be 'freed' for one of the many successors. Now former Prime Minister Berisha almost sees it as if he has it out the window, the prime ministerial post that could be projected as a goal that would lead the historic democratic leader to unimaginable personal glory.

However, in this social stagnation, endless corruption, misuse of public assets, arrogance and theft of many personalities of the administration, it seems that in the DP there is a threshold that must be crossed. It is linked to January 8, the infamous date of 2022 that shattered the history of this political force and where today the characters of the two camps that opposed each other, expect the same power. However, turned into the inverse. A fringe figure like Salianji, but who on that day is remembered for a tool in his hand and pride towards colleagues who wanted to break down the doors of the DP and who represented the then-unofficial grouping "Foltore", has become a character of change in the opposition.

The latter, under the leadership of Berisha (who today gives a press conference once a day in the presence of all the main local media), using insults, stones, iron bars, ladders and sticks for hours, worked to open the doors, armored by his dolphin Lulzim Basha, (already lost on the outskirts of our political history) while at some moments physical clashes took place between the two parties. Let's forget the verbal ones.

This civil war within the DP was ended with the necessary police benevolence and tear gas, while the defenders against Berisha have now turned into his biggest pathetic supporters. But, “January 8”, which a few months later would be “normally” elected by the state, brought Berisha and the entire chaotic crowd of the DP through the door, but left an unattainable goal that is still seen as their Rubicon. To cross it, the people of the DP do not need what Julius Caesar’s cohorts did in 49 BC, but something very simple.

At least they should behave with their party, not as Berisha and his ally in "democracy" Edi Rama have behaved, but to make choices in the interest of their strength and the return of democratic normality to their political formation. The forceful transition that Caesar made turned him into a perpetual dictator, while in our country this policy is almost resulting in a tired autocracy. This is why the DP needs to cross its Rubicon river, which is in their mentality, which seems not to change so easily, at least after January 8, 2022.
