The vast majority of drivers involved in fatal accidents were born after 1990...
Pedestrian/cyclist deaths on the roads of Albania, unfortunately, began again this year...
In fact, since private vehicle ownership was allowed until today, about half of the victims of road accidents in Albania have been pedestrians/cyclists. Not coincidentally, the vast majority of these victims were born before 1991, a time when very few vehicles were on the roads of Albania. Back then, walking or cycling on the roads was truly safe (only 4 road deaths were recorded in total in 1990!).
On the other hand, the vast majority of drivers involved in fatal accidents were born after 1990. So statistically, we are dealing with a generational phenomenon, young people behind the wheel have killed older pedestrians/cyclists.
Young people behind the wheel need to be disciplined, older people on foot or by bicycle need to be educated!
