Albania has a higher level of taxation than Kosovo, but the government of Kosovo increased the pension by 20% while the Albanian government did not increase it but gave alms by only 4%. How is it possible that Kosovo, with a budget almost three times smaller than ours, increases it by 20%, while in Albania it only increases by 25 lek per day.
According to the data of the Al-Tax center, the average burden according to the tax rate at the source in our country is 22.4%. Higher than us is only Serbia, with 23.7% and several countries that are part of the European Union, such as Bulgaria, Romania and Greece. All other countries in the region have the lowest personal income tax rate.
So, it is clear: there is no will, from the government. Pensioners are not a priority for this majority.
It is absurd to hear a prime minister who has been in the government for 12 years say that it's not that we didn't want to, but we can't raise salaries. And when you haven't had a chance for 12 years, then you've failed at best.
How come a government that tenders roads with 20 million euros per kilometer was not able to increase pensions by 20% like Kosovo?
How is it possible for a government to meet whenever its clients want to increase the costs of tenders and increase pensions there is no way.
Dear parents, grandparents, and you, the children of these parents, if only the budget had been better managed, pensioners today would have a more dignified retirement. KLSH has found that in one year alone, abuses and thefts in the budget amount to 800 million euros. With this money, the lives of pensioners would flourish.
So be careful! There are three mandates that are remembered for you every time the elections come, while as soon as they pass, the promises for you are thrown into the dark rooms, never to be found again.
I call on all those who have contributed to Albania to protest tomorrow to show that lies no longer "drink water".
