For Mr. Dumani, the only authority he obeys is the Constitution of the Republic and the only interest he protects is the public interest. This authority and interest in it are non-negotiable. With them, Mr. Duman has proven that he does not compromise.

Either they know him a little or not well, or they know him well. Both sides. Even the roosters of the opposition (among them two or three jackals) that jump up and scream, and the hens of the majority, that are frightened and do not make a sound.

I am talking about the current head of SPAK, Mr. Altin Dumani.

That they know him little and not properly can be understood from the efforts of the roosters (and jackals among them) — in chorus or separately — to put Mr. Dumani in the function he performs with questions and accusations of unilateral activity, selective investigations and political dependence on the party that runs the country and its prime minister.

That they know him well is evidenced by the widespread panic in the ranks of both political wings and the conviction, already proven, that SPAK and its prosecutors are no joke.

Any of those who read these lines may think and say: What is the business of this, a sociologist and a diplomat, who writes about SPAK and the "relations" of politics with this constitutional institution and its leader?

For me, the professional vocation has never been and is not even today separated from a civic vocation as a citizen of this country and as an engaged public intellectual. When I see and hear how they try to treat and stigmatize this institution (the most trusted in the eyes of the Albanian public) and the accusations directed at it by some of our politicians who, to their shame and to the misfortune of the citizens of this country , are sitting in the Parliament of Albania, I have no way to remain silent, even though silence might seem opportune.

I am talking about someone whom the occasion has brought me to know well and closely before he took this very important public office that he holds today, Mr. Altin Dumani. From this personal perspective, for the roosters (and jackals) of the opposition and for the chickens of the majority in the Assembly of Albania, I would like to say that Mr. Dumani, as an individual, but also in the function he performs, is:

(1) more honest and has more integrity than most of them;

(2) more intelligent than most of them;

(3) more skilled in the work he performs than most of them, some of whom have neither done nor do any work;

(4) braver and more determined in the duty he performs than most of them;

(5) more reserved and civilized than most of them;

(6) uncorrupted and, I believe, less corruptible than most of them;

(7) more dignified perhaps than all of them.

If there are people who still haven't learned and don't know, learn from me: Mr. Dumani (and I believe the best part of SPAK prosecutors) does not have anyone over his head, does not receive orders from anyone, does not receive from anyone and does not exchange messages with anyone that would compromise the work, integrity and dignity of him and the institution he leads.

For Mr. Dumani, the only authority he obeys is the Constitution of the Republic and the only interest he protects is the public interest. This authority and interest in it are non-negotiable. With them, Mr. Duman has proven that he does not compromise.

Let the SPAK prosecutors work. They are the girls and boys of this country and they work for us as a society and as a people. They work for today and for our future, our children's and their children's. We should be grateful to them.

The more screams of jackals, like those of the two inglorious former presidents of this country and a bunch of deputies in the assembly we hear, the more we have to believe that Mr. Dumani and his colleagues at SPAK are working for this country and for all of us./ DITA
