I was reading Plutarch. "Parallel Lives" is the name of his book where he undertakes a comparative method between ancient Greece and ancient Rome, comparing about 25 pairs of characters with each other, one from Greece, the other from Rome, to see the similarities and differences between the two worlds, cultures, and histories.
A magnificent treatise on comparative methodology.
I don't know why I suddenly thought of a comparison between the 45-year communist period and the 36-year post-communist period.
Has history repeated itself? So, what happened during one stage of the communist period also happened during the period that followed, which it would be a sin to call the post-communist transition!

Enver did another thing. He was concerned about what he kept repeating that the government should not create dualisms with the party. That is, those who lead the party, that is, him, and some unknown people around him, and those who lead the ministry, or are in the front rows of the People's Assembly, are different. In this way, he divided the leading group around him (which in fact had only straw keys) into two or three parts where each of them had very limited power, they were at odds with each other, ready to gouge out each other's eyes, some in the party, some in the Assembly, some in the ministries. This happened exactly thirty years after the communist era began in power.
Would Plutarch say that parallel lives are still parallel today if he were comparing those who are in the party around the traditional Leader, those who are like paper soldiers in ministries, or those who give speeches in Parliament?

The line of the Enverian party did not change fundamentally only in terms of preserving power. For the rest, it turned to the wind. Once in favor of the great allies, then with Yugoslavia, then with Stalin, then with China, in the end, after consuming all the friendships and betrayals, it was left alone, and fell!
Those of the previous line were liquidated, along with them the historical memory of the previous policy. The leading pole was power. In this way, the party no longer had a real ideological axis, and finally practically became a “party of the whole people”, although Brezhnev’s concept was criticized. Of the whole people, that is, of no one. Only of the leader. The others did not know what party they belonged to, although even when they were shot they shouted: “Long live the party!”
Even the people did not know the ideological meaning of “his” party. They knew that it was “his”, in the sense that it did not relinquish power, and that once every four years, it stripped them of their votes, worthless, under the beating of drums and the knocking on the gate during the nights of terror.
So on one side were the people and on the other side was "his" party of the entire people.
Hannah Arendt was right when she said that the day after Hitler's fall, there were no more Nazis in Germany. With the fall of communism, there were no more communists. She is both ironic and serious, because it means that the people had distanced themselves from the parties of the whole people that were in fact only of the old Leader. The party had been stripped of its members, of the people, yes, it had been stripped of its own leaders, even of the Leader himself, it had become like a bus that takes off down a hill without a driver!
I remember in the 90s when the then leader shouted at meetings: Where are the communists!
There was no more!
I say it once again, Pluraku is dead, I can no longer ask him if he draws any parallels here to compare times, and to say that beyond empty and false ideologies, history, that History that has iron laws, repeats itself.

Mbas 90 u urdheruan te shkaterrojne kriminalizojne, kthimin e vendit ne lavatriçe parash per te investuar operacione speciale. Pra lidershipet jane perzgjedhur mbi bazën e bindjes dhe sherbeses me përkushtim te udhëzimeve. Përpara 90 ushtrohej veprimtari kriminale e aprovuar ,kondrabande cigaresh , drogen dhe transport floriri , mbas 90 behet çdo gje urdhërohen te bejne.
