Why Veliaj's "conviction" in the certificate raises doubts about

Deliberate negligence or logical inconsistency in the prosecution's actions, which raise doubts about the prosecutor's objectivity in this case.

Olsi Dado, the prosecutor who requested the arrest without trial of Mayor Erion Veliaj, the Political Leader of the Socialist Party for the Tirana Region, revealed in the courtroom two days ago that he had made a "slip of the tongue" when, on the first page of the investigative file he had drafted, Veliaj appeared "convicted".

Yesterday, in a forced reaction, SPAK blamed the Directorate of Prisons and its system for generating the "convicted" status for Veliaj. This was later denied by the Directorate of Prisons, which briefly stated that it had informed Prosecutor Dado that Veliaj's criminal record was clean.

But beyond the jumps and bounds between institutions, it must be said from the outset that this "slip" was a serious mistake, which has seriously compromised the entire file against Veliaj, who now has the right to ask whether his entire investigation is filled with such 'slips'.

However, there is another simple reason why the final doubt falls precisely on the professional skills of the prosecutor in question:

Should this prosecutor, upon seeing that Veliaj's status had been changed from 'convicted' to 'convicted' by the Prison Directorate, have immediately carried out the necessary verifications to clarify this fact? Of course, yes!

Why? Because how was it possible that Veliaj was listed as "convicted" in the registry, when in fact he had been serving as Mayor since 2015 and in all these years he had filled out the decriminalization form without declaring this fact?

If Veliaj had been convicted, which he did not declare on the form, then prosecutor Dado should have immediately added the charge of falsifying the form against Veliaj.

But why didn't you verify this?

Deliberate negligence or logical inconsistency in the prosecution's actions, which raise doubts about the prosecutor's objectivity in this case.

Or that in fact, as Veliaj says, prosecutor Dado had changed his mind about declaring him guilty before the trial even started, reflecting this with a Freudian slip?!

Unfortunately for the seriousness of SPAK, the investigative process against Veliaj is tarnished, not even started yet. And the above case raises another question mark over the professionalism of the prosecutor in the case and beyond.
