There have been many accusations over the years against Sali Berisha that he was the one who did not nurture, help or support the emergence of new figures, who are supported, however the problem remains precisely at the core.
It is not only the DP politicians who cannot leave the old school, and the "only" option they have is to be a politically genetic copy of Sali Berisha.
Which, most of them have had and idolize from the new generation. Meanwhile, a minority who have had a mind for a different model, have stuck to the old versions of the doctor's sketches.
Such are, or rather it seems, the young opposition politicians of the left, who are in themselves the opposite of Sali Berisha.
If you look at their statements without putting a face or a name, they are of the now familiar style of the doctor. The style consists of a culture already imprinted in Albanian politics: the opponent is the absolute evil and burdened not only by the 7 universal sins but also by a thousand other black ones.
This is the content side of the opposition fable, while the form is also the same, almost a photocopy or a variation of the theme of the 30-year-old school.
There have been many accusations over the years against Sali Berisha that he was the one who did not nurture, help or support the emergence of new figures, who are supported, however the problem remains precisely at the core.
And not to speak theoretically, we return to history, which has provided an important alternative model in the history of the Albanian opposition.
It was 2013, when Sali Berisha publicly resigned from the leadership of the DP. Beyond the cries of the militants, the insiders of the Democratic Party knew from the beginning that we are not dealing with a real departure. But a retreat, maintaining control of the party and all political levers, outside the political and underground connected with politics.
But even though it was known that it was a fake resignation, Sokol Olldashi, dared, tried and prepared to become the new leader of the Albanian opposition. In addition to the race, which turned out to be an impossible mission, Olldashi revealed a completely different model from Sali Berisha, the historical leader. Although he did not turn out to be an anti-Berisha, in reality he collided in all aspects with the power, influence, but also the tentacles of Sali Berisha in his political power. Even until the day he died in his fatal accident.
In that short period of time, Sokol Olldashi had open and non-open, direct and indirect shares. To create a political lobby that supports him, which normally does every aspirant to become a leader. Sokol Olldashi created a political network in the PD structures, a lobby of his own in the parliamentary group, the Party dome, the surrounding society, etc., but what has remained and is embedded in the memory and archive, are his speeches in the Assembly.
Where Sokol Olldashi, with a sharp, strong and bitter tongue, showed who he is and what he thinks about the future of the opposition and the country. Those speeches that appear on the net from time to time become viral, not with the support of any media or financial boss, but quite naturally.
Sokol Olldashi, although young, was not a novice in politics, he had even fought his own battles, the most important of which was the one against Edi Rama for the mayor of Tirana. He had been a minister and an official, but above all he had his primary identity as a journalist known to an audience not only to the right in the country.
Olldashi was not a photocopy, nor a clone, although he had connections, friendships or lobbies on the left and right, in the media and society, in the business class or even in the circles of the strong in the country.
Before Olldash, there was also Bamir Topi who tried to create duality with Sali Berisha in the most political way possible. It was Astrit Patozi afterwards in even smaller sizes. But each of these three characters were not clones, they were not identified as photocopies, even though they had good relations with Sali Berisha at different times.
Creating a leadership profile is not easy, especially in today's time, when polarization is more extreme and the model of the Republic is based on the monarchy of party leaders. However, there are all opportunities for a new character to appear on the field who does not need to copy someone, or act like him, but to come out with his own mind and ideas.
This is also not easy, as it requires a lot of reading and grades in school to really get them. Then the first speech is enough to show the political dough. If this speech turns out to be a pathetic draft of the sixth grade, plagiarized over-repeated rhetoric in Parliament or speeches, of course it will not stick. Especially when they see that we are dealing with a serial copy of Doctor...
