Sali Berisha's pulpit is a hostage to the Partizani court case, while the Freedom Party is a hostage to the court cases that are under investigation, but which have not officially been filed.
The long stay in power of the socialist majority and the electoral power of Edi Rama has brought to the center of discussions the power of an opposition figure who can defeat the majority.
But until today, the opposition controlled by Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, is not aiming at the emergence of a new opposition figure, but maintaining a status quo associated with them. This is actually the most important development of the Albanian opposition, where financial and media assets have been invested to maintain an old fortress that has the names of Berisha and Meta.
But where do these two names take the country? This is already an old discussion since it has been a while since the thesis that the political class should be overthrown has been answered by an opinion that "we know that".
And in fact, this was seen clearly during the reporting session of the head of SPAK in the Laws Commission, where the only political segment that disputed the special prosecution was the pulpit.
However, this is not a new development. Like Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta, they are the two politicians who contested from the beginning the reform in justice, the vetting of judges and prosecutors, KLP and KLJJ and of course SPAK.
A militant from the pulpit, who is better known as Fredi Beleri's chief of staff, declared today that what SPAK is achieving today is no more than what prosecutor Hajdarmata or his serious crime colleagues did.
When the most important effect of Hajdarmata and his colleagues was when, instead of putting them in the file, the investigation files were sent to the office of Sali Berisha, who is actually his protector.
Today we are witnessing a situation where SPAK has opened a big game, where normally an opposition in the country can elaborate theses, programs but above all leaders. To come to power in new elections.
But our opposition is not an autonomous political formation, where you can talk about a program, a political staff or a political halo. Sali Berisha's pulpit is a hostage to the Partizani court case, while the Freedom Party is a hostage to the court cases that are under investigation, but which have not officially been filed.
But normally files can be made as soon as possible. That after all it is an expected development. But the opposition emphasizes that it does not trust SPAK only when it investigates Edi Rama. A naturally propagandistic rhetoric, since this opposition is linked by the cases of the investigation of Berisha and Meta.
Logically, these two cases would produce a new development within the opposition, the emergence of new opposition figures who could even fight in public to clear the figures of their leader who is being investigated by SPAK.
Can the Albanian opposition do this? Definitely! He may even appear in the elections with the thesis that Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta are innocent and we ask Albanians for a political vote regarding SPAK. The opportunity is quite clear; that in the next elections Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta come out with the election slogan that SPAK is accusing the opposition of.
Because that's really what the divide is today. Foltorja and the Freedom Party are the groups that consider SPAK a criminal structure. But this thesis has great popular opposition in all polls. However, this leadership, which sees SPAK as a challenge to its future, does not choose a new leadership group that would face the battle with the socialist majority.
A new leadership would bring not only a political earthquake in the country, but also the political victory of an opposition that does not have Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta. Bringing in a domino effect large sections of society that have been kept away for years. That's why they don't allow it.
