God made Albania a paradise. But it is people who are making it unlivable for people.
"Jobs for Albania" and "jobs for Albanians" may seem like the same thing, but in reality they are two realities that often do not coincide.
Albania as nature is a work of art. Nature here has spared nothing; it has been generous to the point of excess. It has placed us at a strategic crossroads, surrounded us with mountains that protect us from the world and seas that invite us to see the world. We have fertile fields, endless flowing water and a sun that many peoples would seek with gold. You can't ask for more from a place.
The question is not: "What is missing from the (sub)soil of Albania?" The burning question is: "What is missing from the Albanian who lives on this land?"
Because, while TV/FB/Instagram is flooded with colorful and glittering 3D projects, the country is faced with another "3D" - the truth, the one that is emptying our homes: Demography, Democracy, Development.
Albania is emptying and OLD. We are not only losing people, but also the energy that keeps a country alive.
The country cannot rotate power or elites. It now even holds formal elections.
The landscape does not warm the house when winter comes. The sun's rays do not increase the salary that does not come until the end of the month. The beauty of the mountains cannot replace a good school or a modern hospital. The flow and energy of rivers do not make justice either cleaner or more efficient.
The desire to leave the country does not decrease because the number of tourists is increasing.
The problems we have have not come to us from above or from afar.
They are "gifts" from people. They are decisions made at tables, they are priorities chosen consciously, and they are responsibilities that cannot be evaded.
It is painful to see how for "Albania as a postcard" we have everything, while for "Albanian as a citizen" we talk about the minimum of survival. "We have the figures in our hands and whatever we want, but we cannot hide the facts"
God made Albania a paradise.
But it is the people who are making it unlivable for people.
The challenge today is not to add new bricks to virtual projects, but to return dignity to man, so that Albania is not just a beautiful place to visit, but a home where it is worth growing up and growing old.
