The collapse of the Korçë-Ersekë axis, the biggest crime is the
Head of SPAK, Altin Dumani

Billions thrown into the ether by corruption for roads, which are left on the roads, as the prime minister once said. But the biggest crime in this whole story is SPAK's silence. A silence that will have to be broken. Start from Korçë-Ersekë with a very simple question. Why did the road collapse?

“The numbers don't lie sir. Politics, poetry and promises, these are lies. Numbers are the closest thing we have to God and truth.” This quote from a Hollywood movie contains a great deal of truth. Mathematics is the language of truth, while numbers are its words.

As propaganda bombards people with alternative "truths" every day, the numbers scream. Sometimes even very strong.

The Korçë-Ersekë road is a total of 35 kilometers long and was started to be built 13 years ago. Half of it, or 17 kilometers, was tendered by the Democratic Party government at the time for a total cost of around 15 million euros.

The other half or 18 kilometers has been tendered and continues to be built by the current government. So far the total cost of the socialist segment has reached 48 million euros, or over 3 times more than the cost of the previous government. This is the scream of numbers that is drowned out by the daily propaganda.

The Korçë-Ersekë road is the symbol of the corrupt fatherland with investments in infrastructure during these years. Tripled unit costs and never-ending routes. So 13 years for only 18 kilometers. But it doesn't end there. In the end, corruption paved the way.

For engineers, the cause of the collapse is clear. A bridge should have been built in that place because of the great height of the axle from the sole. But ANK, the construction company, saved by building a stone wall even though it took money from the budget as if it were building highways. So the road collapsed. But the most disturbing fact is that it collapsed without receiving a load, without being used yet, which means that no minimum standard has been met there.

Now comes the next big damage. The road will take other money. Belinda Balluku has entered her 5th year as Minister of Infrastructure. And the record speaks clearly. In the construction of the Ring, the single overpass with arrows, last year received an additional 4.5 million euros over the tendered value because the overpass was designed incorrectly and could not hold, risking collapse.

Korrcë-Ersekë has received additions upon additions and now collapsed in front of everyone's eyes and in the background of Balluk's inaugurations, which completed the road in June of last year.

Five years is a long time and unfortunately for the Albanians, the list of dark records continues to increase day by day. Kardhiq-Delvinë, Arbri street and many others.

Billions thrown into the ether by corruption for roads, which are left on the roads, as the prime minister once said. But the biggest crime in this whole story is SPAK's silence. A silence that will have to be broken. Start from Korçë-Ersekë with a very simple question. Why did the road collapse? And why did it cost 3 times more than the half that Berisha tendered?
