Neither the sections, nor the group-sections, came to Sali Berisha to be part of what he called the primaries process, which was actually a theater, a circus, a falsehood repeated for 34 years.
In 2021, when Sali Berisha's battle to take the DP from Lulzim Basha began, he promised to open the party to all those who had not found space in the party's structures.
He promised to hold primaries to elect all party structures, from the grassroots capillary bodies to the leadership dome. He promised the dome to elect representatives for municipal councilors, deputies, and beyond.
But nothing happened. Neither the sections, nor the group-sections, came to Sali Berisha to be part of what he called the primaries process, which was actually a theater, a circus, a falsehood repeated for 34 years.
No organized structure in the territory of the DP refused to join the game of Sali Berisha to use the party in defense of his plight. This is a fact that has been proven very clearly, in the challenges that Berisha has made to the Democrats, using them as blackmail. As was the attempt to use them as "raw material" in undecided and consulted protests, but simply determined by him. The 2021 protest in Shkodër failed successfully, precisely in the stronghold of the DP, as if to show what the democrats think.
Here Berisha got mad and decided to try to remove from the direction the heads of sections and branches of the DP throughout Albania, by imposing people appointed by his order.
It was a rather fierce war with threats, fights, and even the use of weapons, but even today, Berisha's PD, even though it has the stamp in hand, has not received any of the real structures of the SP. What configures the political groups of the official PD are simply people who were once in allied parties of the right or even from interest groups, who tried to enter by force through the Berishjan catapult. Even in the so-called primaries of Tirana that produced Belind Këlliç as a candidate for mayor, more people outside the structures voted, namely voters and sympathizers, than members of the DP. Even in some areas, there were more members of Ilir Meta's Freedom Party, coming from a past of socialist militancy, than democrats.
Of course, this is not the only reason why Sali Berisha has left the primaries, as he could at least try to do this process with the delegates in the districts or the election of the members of the presidency from the so-called National Council, which elected him at the Air Albania Stadium in December of 2021, which was nothing but a propaganda theater.
Most of the figures of that leadership are no more, and today all the leaders or the so-called more were understood with the doctor's signature and seal.
However, the real and vital cause of the failure of a political process and elections within the party is that Sali Berisha is like Alex Xinxa in the movie Vendimi. Only the leadership is left and they have taken the entire base.
