Shkodra resulted in the highest electoral performance of the SP.
Now that the results of the May 11 elections have been officially certified, we can take an electoral x-ray of those results.
In these elections, unlike those in 2021, diaspora voters could also vote by mail. And the main parties conducted a feverish campaign in the diaspora to increase as many votes from the diaspora as possible.
Domestically, both the SP and the DP-ASHM suffered a decline in the number of votes compared to 2021 – the SP received 4.5% fewer votes and the DP-ASHM a full 33% fewer. But the SP received over 122 thousand votes from the diaspora, while the DP-ASHM only 47 thousand…
With the help of diaspora votes, the SP managed to increase its vote share by 11.5% compared to 2021.
Among the districts, Shkodra resulted in the highest electoral performance of the SP, both domestically and abroad. While Kukës resulted in the lowest (see the table below).
