The youth of 1990 and the youth of 2025 in the DP!

But this is very important to understand where a so-called democratic party has ended up. It has ended up in the hands of an old man, who thinks that those who betray him in the party will be punished when he returns to power and creates a state of dictatorship of the proletariat based on loyalty to him in the party.

In December 1990, the Democratic Party, founded after four days of student protests, instilled fear in Albanian society, demanding political freedom, freedom of thought, freedom of the press, and had the main slogan "We love Albania like all of Europe."

In their political vocabulary, which put them at the head of the movement, even though their lack of political experience was clearly visible, you could sense that they were oriented towards freedom. Even the first naive proposal in the DP statute was that the chairman would stay for two years and be replaced.

What is the vocabulary of the DP leaders and their strongmen today? Sali Berisha has accused the democrats who betray as servile and ignorant and has declared that they will be held accountable. Think for a moment, how the leader of the Albanian opposition feels himself to be all-powerful before whom those who betray the DP will also be held accountable. Although it seems ridiculous and completely meaningless for a free society, his vow to lynch the traitorous democrats is something that stems from his Enverist subconscious, which makes him feel like the First Secretary even though he is a miserable old man on the streets, who is not even loved by his own party.

But this is very important to understand where a so-called democratic party has ended up. It has ended up in the hands of an old man, who thinks that those who betray him in the party will be punished when he returns to power and creates a state of dictatorship of the proletariat based on loyalty to him in the party.

Go a little further. His spokesman, who is a well-read man and it is not like he has anything from Berisha's party in his DNA, advises Salianji, another critic of Berisha, to think carefully about this matter after seeing where Lulzim Basha ended up. So he tries to remind him that Berisha does not forgive traitors. And surprisingly, he calls what happened to Basha a tragedy and feels lucky that he has remained by Berisha's side.

Another senior Berisha figure, Paloka, claims that Sali Berisha did not listen to his request and only included him on the lists of safe deputies. So he did not have the power to say no even though it was “positive discrimination”.

Further on, look at the Mirdita Pulpit. Some old men, toothless and sadly without sense in their heads, praised Sali Berisha for doing good to these young people who seek democracy and for drowning them in a pit of filth like Lulzim Basha. And the hall applauds.

So in 2025, the young people who have the values of December 1990 are the object of the Democratic Party's war. If then the young people overthrew the dictatorship and gave Albania a new perspective, today in the DP, the war against the young is a priority. Berisha's circle of servile people mythologize his lynchings, while Berisha himself promises that those who betray him will receive the punishment they deserve.

In no imagination, no matter how bold, could it ever have been thought that the party that was created in December 1990 would end up in this state 35 years later, with the same chairman as the first month, and with all the evils of the Labor Party in the last month of its life.

This misdeed is enough for the DP to at least do history a favor and no longer celebrate December 8. Let it leave that day as a symbol to those who dare and overthrow the old and not to those who have all stood up to preserve the oldest, worst and only atavism of communism in the Albania of 2025.
