The new parties have to throw down the walls erected by the SP and the DP, so that in addition to the fight against corruption, they can appear with new and tangible alternatives and a different image of European Albania.
The opposition has started to have a lot of expectations for June 11, when the Court of Appeal is expected to give a decision regarding the DP's symbolism and which of the two parties it belongs to. "Legalët" and "Rithemelimi" have been transformed into two halves without contact (with a hybrid group towards Berisha) since January of a few years ago, when they set fire to the Democratic Party Building. Times have changed, but memories weigh.
How the judgment will be evaluated this time, we will see on the evening of June 11, when the parties will show whether they accept it or not, but a simple logic leads to the fact that: the DP saga will continue. First, those who were dissatisfied that day have another level, where they can complain, but second, it seems that they like this position. We emphasize the second point, since there was every possibility that already one year from the general elections (there is still a possibility for early elections, let alone what the SP categorically excludes), the DP would find a formula of pragmatism and start with the united structures, the effort to return to power.
Fortunately for them, SP and PD have the domain of elections in the country, which means that if one fails, the other will definitely take power. In recent years, Albania applied the closed regional proportional system, while in the last elections of April 25, the regional proportional electoral system with open lists was used.
With the ambiguity of the representation of the Electoral Reform (passing as a subcommittee to 'Laws') with the SP and Reestablishment (PD) taking the lead, it seems that the paradox will continue, but it also seems like a signal, for those who believe that the SP affects the Justice, that the Seal can also go to the Reestablishment. Which means that the space for new parties will be small again.
Without mentioning the history, we must briefly say that in recent years there have been serious efforts: Spahi's "Red and Black Alliance", Topi's "New Democratic Spirit" approached even under these conditions (without being able to finalize it from the system ) with the acquisition of 1 deputy from the Alliance and 2 from the FRD, just as the place of the "Book" of Blushi and the votes of "Thurrje" in 2021 gave it a mandate!!
Can the system be reformatted to bring space for Qorri, Llapaj, Shabani? It is impossible, for those who started it and are using the power. While the struggle of the camps and individuals of the two parts of the DP is visible for 2025, in the SP it is covered by the absolute power of Rama and that is enough for them. Meanwhile, if there was good will for lowering the threshold of representation, referring to research, if corruption as in our country would be a major concern, plus with the fatigue from DP and SP, then this would really be one of the reasons why the parties the new one could be successful, apart from the others. In fact, the reality is paradoxical.
There are examples that corruption can be used by some politicians in the government to further consolidate their power, as illustrated by the example of Viktor Orbán, whose corrupt system is highly centralized, or like Rama who leaves it to the "criminals" ( without taking even moral responsibility) and encourages Justice!!
If there were normal elections and a fairer system, corruption scandals would encourage not only distrust in today's political elite but also the need for change and would pave the way for new realities.
Besides, what is happening in our country, whether it is due to the division and the paradox of the seal of the DP; the strength of the SP, which uses the entire state machinery and turns the elections into an almost meaningless tool (it only allows the stigmatization of politicians, who surrender to SPAK the most), are no longer the right choice. Therefore, the new parties have to throw down the walls erected by the SP and the DP, so that in addition to the fight against corruption, they can appear with new and tangible alternatives and a different image of European Albania.
