The Criminal Court of Kosovo (CCKKO) today handed down its verdict against the defendant Robert Myftari, accused of drug trafficking and criminal organization.
After reviewing the evidence, the panel of judges Albert Meça, Luljeta Kole and Gentian Marku decided to find Myftari guilty of the following criminal offenses:
-“Drug trafficking” in collaboration, within a structured criminal group, attempted;
-“Structured criminal group”;
-“Committing criminal offenses by criminal organizations and structured criminal groups”.
Based on Article 55 of the Criminal Code, the Court decided to merge the sentences into a single one, sentencing Robert Myftari to 10 years in prison. The sentence will start from the day of his arrest for this criminal proceeding, and he will serve the sentence in a high-security prison, pursuant to Law No. 81/2020.
The court also ordered the confiscation of a dinghy, initially registered in the name of the defendant, and then in the name of citizen MD, the son of co-defendant Ilirjan Duçellari.
The Gomonia was seized by the Albanian police in November 2015 with a load of around 800 kg of narcotics and will be transferred to the Albanian state.
