Gunshots were recorded at noon today in Bulqiza, where the target was Luan Tërnova , a well-known name in the area. Despite the barrage of bullets, fortunately no injuries were reported.
The event happened near the city's mosque, where Tërnova was shot while leaving prayer. He himself made the report to the police, indicating that he was targeted by unidentified persons.
The police immediately arrived at the scene and started investigations to identify the perpetrators. A burnt motorcycle was found on the Qafa e Buallit-Klos axis, which is suspected to have been used by the perpetrators.
Who is Luan Ternova?
Luan Tërnova, 40 years old, has a rich history with justice. He was arrested in May 2016 for possession of weapons without a permit, after a pistol with 8 bullets was found in his apartment. One of the actions that brought him back to the center of attention was the coded operation "Geologist", where he was arrested together with his mother, Sarie Tërnova, 58 years old. During the search of his vehicle, mother and son were caught with firearms.
Luan Tërnova was also convicted in France for burglary and was deported to Albania just one month before his arrest in Bulqiza.
The connection with the strongman of Bulqiza, Fadil Tërnova
Luan Tërnova is the brother of a well-known name in the world of crime in Bulqiza, Fadil Tërnova . The latter, known as "the strongman of Bulqiza", has a rich criminal record. The 37-year-old was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted murder and clashed several times with rivals.
One of the most serious events happened in 2013, when Fadil Tërnova allegedly killed Shefqet Shehu and wounded Vehad Shehu after a shootout in the "Gjeologu" neighborhood. He himself was injured in this collision.
The Tërnova family is considered one of the strongest families in Dibra and has created a lot of enmity in the area. These consecutive assassinations against the Tërnova family showed a marked presence of conflicts in the Bulqiza area.
