The dynamics of the tragic accident that took the life of Alfred Vocaj, the 20-year-old of Albanian origin, but a resident of Abano, on Tuesday morning, remains to be clarified.
The local police of Padua, which has intervened to investigate, will interview in the following days the witnesses who were traveling on the highway at the time of the accident.
The only certain fact at the moment is that Vocaj's motorcycle made an immediate transition to the opposite lane and collided head-on with a car driven by a 57-year-old man.
It was impossible for the driver of the Freemont, a resident of the province of Florence, to avoid the collision despite strong braking.
But what caused the reverse lane?
All hypotheses are currently being considered, police say, from distraction to a mechanical failure, not excluding a sudden illness.
At the moment, the only recorded statement is that of the Fiat driver, who told the officers that he suddenly found himself in front of him while he was going from Padua to Abano.
While Alfred Vocaj was on his way to work.
Yesterday, the young man's family opened the mortuary doors.
His family members, father Gjekë, owner of a construction company, and mother Doriana, want the truth to be revealed.
"The local police, when they notified us, didn't tell us much, emphasizes a cousin of Alfred, they limited themselves to telling us that he had died in a collision. We want to know what really happened."
Anyone who knew the boy indicates that he was extremely careful when driving a vehicle.
Just a week before he tragically lost his life, he had started working in a service station, as he had a passion for cars and was immediately distinguished for his punctuality and dedication.
"We are all convinced of one thing, continues the cousin, if he suddenly crossed the opposite lane and collided with the car, it was not his fault. But we have no more information than what we have been told by the local police. We want to know the whole truth."
Alfredi's family went to Padua yesterday to get the personal belongings that the boy had with him at the time of the collision that cost him his life.
"His family is destroyed, the relative continues, what is suffering the most is his mother. His father tries valiantly to hold himself up, but she can barely stand. And Alfred's little sister can't get over it; right now she can't even accept what happened."
The dead body of the young man was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the University of Padua, at the disposal of the judicial authorities./ VizionPlus
