
40-year-old Pandeli Nakoleci is expected to appear in court in Greece today, after the murder of his 36-year-old wife, a serious incident that occurred in the city of Volos, in front of their children.
After the crime, he managed to elude police for over 30 hours, hiding in a bushland just 200 meters from the family's home. The arrest was made on Thursday afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., thanks to a call from a resident who had noticed his movements.
Nakolec was captured without resistance and, as soon as he was handcuffed, he said in front of the officers: "He was betraying me. What should I have done differently?"
According to the investigation, the 40-year-old stabbed his wife, Marjola Nakoleci, twice: once in the neck and then in the back. Security camera footage helped police reconstruct his route after the incident and discover his hiding place.
Greek authorities said that Nakolec had no prior history of domestic violence, but had previously been accused of participating in a criminal organization and violating the narcotics law. Also, on June 28, 2025, by order of the prosecutor's office, he was sent for examination and treatment to a psychiatric clinic.
