A fatal accident occurred at a construction site in Tirana, where a 58-year-old worker lost his life as a result of a concrete mixer pump collapsing while working. The incident occurred in the area covered by Police Station No. 5, where the intervention of the Police led to the arrest of the driver.
According to official sources from the State Police, "Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Commissariat No. 5 arrested citizen EL, 36 years old, as it is suspected that as a result of the collapse of the pump of the work vehicle (concrete mixer) he was driving, an employee of the same entity, citizen RR, 58 years old, was injured, who consequently lost his life."
The first suspicions raise questions about the safety measures at the construction site and the technical maintenance of the construction equipment. It is not yet known whether the company has implemented the legal protocols for the safety of employees in the workplace. The Police and the State Labor Inspectorate are expected to deepen the investigations to reveal the concrete responsibilities of the construction entity.
