The Police Supervision Agency today executed security measures against six police officers and one civilian, as part of the "Last Bet" operation, conducted in the Elbasan and Korça regions.
The officers, using their official positions, in collaboration with each other, have organized and favored the practice of illegal lotteries/sports betting. Specifically, the measures were executed for: Deputy Commissioner RT, with the duty of Specialist for Crimes, at the Manëz Police Station, at the Durrës Police Station; Inspector EK, with the duty of Assistant Specialist/Controller at the Morinë Border Police Station, at the Kukes Local Directorate of Border and Migration; Commissioner DS, with the duty of Head of the Section for the Investigation of Large-Scale Crimes at the Devoll Police Station; Deputy Commissioner AM, with the duty of Shift Manager at the Morinë Border Police Station, at the Kukes Local Directorate of Border and Migration; Inspector GB, with the duty of Assistant Specialist/Controller at the Morinë Border Police Station, at the Kukes Local Directorate of Border and Migration; Citizen IT, resident in Tirana; ED Inspector, assigned to the Operational Service Corps at the Special Tactical Intervention Section, in the "Renea" special unit.
Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha has secured the investigative file against them, where following the investigative actions carried out, a technical expertise act was administered on the mobile phones seized from the persons under investigation EP and IT, from which, among other things, in the interest of the investigation, their communications with content of organizing and practicing gambling have resulted.
Among other things, conversations held on the "WhatsApp" communication application between police officers and IT citizens were recorded and included content on the organization and practice of games of chance, sports betting, and football matches.
