A serious incident is reported to have happened on the Korçë-Pogradec national axis, where a person was found in unclear circumstances without signs of life, near the village of Leshnica.
It is suspected that a vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian, and then the driver left the scene.
Meanwhile, the police is known to have arrived at the scene and is working to find the perpetrator and fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Police notification:
Pogradec/ Preliminary information/ Around 18:25, on the "Korçë-Pogradec" road axis, in the place called "Ura e Leshnica", a 40-year-old FP citizen, a resident of Petrushë, was found dead.
From the first actions performed at the scene and the preliminary examination of the body, it is suspected that the accident was caused by a vehicle that left the scene.
The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office is at the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident, identify the vehicle and its driver who is suspected of having an accident resulting in the death of the citizen FP
In the meantime, the Police services are continuing the checks in various service stations and facilities along the Korçë-Pogradec road axis and in the surrounding villages, with the aim of finding the vehicle and arresting its driver.
