Accused of drug trafficking, 8 people are arrested in Italy; among them also Albanians

An anti-drug mega-operation coordinated by the Italian police of Savona in cooperation with that of Modena, led to the arrest of 8 people, among them Albanians.

The canine unit of the State of Genoa Police also assisted in the operation.

The operation was called "Golden Eggs 2022" because the restrictive measures were approved at the end of a complex investigation, which began last summer, according to the Italian news agency Ansa.

Six of the arrested persons were left in prison, while the security measure of "house arrest" was imposed on two others.

Last summer, as part of the same operation, 5 people were arrested after a total of 6 kg of cocaine, heroin and marijuana were found and seized.

The continuation of the investigation made it possible to find 250 cases of the sale of narcotics in the center of the city of Savona.
