A 26-year-old man on the international wanted list has been extradited from Spain to Albania, as part of the police operation codenamed "The Wanted".
The police announce that, thanks to the cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid, it was possible to locate, capture and return to Albania citizen Algert Zeneli, a resident of Milot.
The young man was declared an international wanted person after the Shkodra Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him for a series of criminal offenses, including "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production and sale of narcotics", and involvement in a "structured criminal group".
According to investigations, during 2023, in the area of the village of Kir, Administrative Unit Pult, as well as in several areas near Theth, in the territory of Shkodra, the 26-year-old is suspected of having cultivated around 10,900 suspected narcotic plants of the Cannabis Sativa variety in collaboration with other persons.
"Cooperation with partners continues for the capture and extradition of internationally wanted citizens."
Another phase of the police operation codenamed "The Wanted" is being finalized.
Accused of cultivating 10,900 narcotic plants in 2023, in the territory of Shkodra, the 26-year-old is extradited from Spain.
As a result of close cooperation between Interpol Tirana specialists and their counterparts in Spain, within the framework of the police operation codenamed "The Wanted", the procedures for the extradition from Spain to Albania of citizen AZ, 26 years old, resident of Milot, were finalized.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Shkodra Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Cultivation of narcotic plants", "Production and sale of narcotics", "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group".
The investigations suspect that during 2023, in the village of Kir, Pult Administrative Unit, as well as in several other areas near the village of Theth, in the territory of Shkodra, this citizen, in collaboration with other members of a structured criminal group, cultivated 10,900 suspected narcotic plants, of the Cannabis Sativa variety.
"As a result of the exchange of information and operational coordination between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid, it became possible to locate, capture and extradite this citizen to Albania," the police announced.
