The escape of Altin Ndoc from the Durrës Regional Hospital has led to the immediate suspension of the entire chain of command of the Durrës Prisons. The prison director, the chief of prison police and several other mid-level officials have been suspended from duty, until the incident is fully clarified and concrete responsibilities are determined. In total, 10 people have been suspended.
The suspension decision came just a few hours after the escape of Ndoc, a highly dangerous person with a serious record in SPAK, involved in some of the most sensational assassinations of the last decade.
Altin Ndoci was sent for a medical examination to the infectious diseases ward at the Durrës Regional Hospital, accompanied by 5 officers. Only two of them went inside, while the others remained outside in the vehicle. When he asked to go to the toilet, he took advantage of the lack of vigilance, punched the officer at the door and quickly escaped down the stairs of the third floor. A police officer shot in the air, but without success.
It is suspected that a luxury vehicle, an "Audi A7" with license plates AA700RS, was waiting for him in the hospital parking lot, where he got in and disappeared towards the Spitalla area. All these details reinforce the belief that the escape was not accidental, but a coordinated action with external support.
