Altin Ndoci, one of the most important arrestees in the framework of the "Golden Bullet" operation, has disappeared in broad daylight from the Durrës Regional Hospital.
The incident occurred on Tuesday around noon, in one of the most monitored buildings, which is located just a few meters from the Durrës Local Police Directorate.
According to official data and preliminary investigations, Altin Ndoci was taken to the hospital for a medical examination, accompanied by five officers of the Prison Police. After entering the infectious disease ward, an area that is supposed to have high security measures, he asked to use the toilet. The moment he came out, he punched one of the officers and then ran away down the stairs of the third floor. A police officer tried to stop him with a gun by shooting in the air, but Ndoci managed to escape without a trace. Security footage inside the hospital is expected to be essential for the investigation.
A planned escape, with outside help
Investigators suspect that the escape was carefully organized. A white Audi A7 vehicle with AA700RS license plates was previously identified, which is suspected of having been waiting for him in the hospital parking lot. After the escape, Ndoci got into the car and drove away at speed towards the Spitalla area, on the outskirts of the city.
Sources from the investigation group say that there is reasonable suspicion that other people are involved in this scheme. Police have set up checkpoints and are checking the cameras of all businesses and buildings near the hospital. AMP has meanwhile launched an internal investigation to understand whether we are dealing with negligence or deliberate collaboration of prison structures.
Who is Altin Ndoci? A key name in SPAK files
Ndoci is a familiar name to SPAK investigators. He has been detained since 2020 and has been involved in some of the most serious charges of the Duman group. Initially, he was charged with involvement in the murder of four people, but the court found him not guilty of some of them, after Klevis Alla's testimony was considered false. Alla lost his status as a collaborator of justice, while Ndoci was not released, due to other charges that continue to weigh on him.
In the current case, he is accused of participating in a structured criminal group, premeditated murder, wounding, and illegal possession of weapons. Another defendant, Nuredin Dumani, testified against him, implicating him in the assassination attempt on Andi Zylyfi and the wounding of Ardit Uruçi. His name also appears in the testimony of Erion Alibej, who said that Dumani himself planned to eliminate Ndoc as a potential rival.
Official reaction of the Prisons Directorate: The intervention failed
In a statement to the media, the Directorate of Prisons said that the structures were immediately put in pursuit. According to the statement, despite the immediate intervention of the Prison Police forces, Altin Ndoci managed to leave the hospital premises.
" The detainee Altin Ndoci has been removed from the premises of the Durrës Regional Hospital, where he was accompanied for medical visits. All medical procedures were carried out in the infectious diseases ward, which has a security ward for prisoners.
Despite the immediate intervention of the Prison Police forces to detain him, Altin Ndoci managed to leave the hospital.
