An Albanian citizen was arrested in Boyacá, Colombia, following an immigration check, after it was confirmed that he was internationally wanted by Italian authorities on charges of criminal association and drug trafficking.
The procedure was carried out by Colombian Immigration officers, who placed the foreigner at the disposal of the National Police.
The man had traveled from Bogota to the city of Tunja, where he was discovered while trying to complete a procedure at the Colombian Immigration Office.
According to authorities, it is believed that he chose to travel from the country's capital to Boyacá in order to avoid checkpoints at the usual checkpoints. The hypothesis suggests that in Tunja, he found it easier to remain undetected.
