A police officer at the border point in Qafë Botë has been arrested by the Police Surveillance Agency.
It is known that the police officer was put in handcuffs after, during the control of the "Mercedes Benz" vehicle, with which he was moving from the border crossing point Qafë Bote in the direction of Saranda, they found 49 sticks not equipped with the fiscal stamp, suspected contraband, with a value of around 3500 euros.
Also, from the control of a store owned by this citizen, several bags of tobacco without tax stamps were found.
"From the investigations so far followed by AMP, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Sarandë, it has been found that this police officer periodically, during the time he was serving in PKK Qafë Botë, passed these contraband goods to supply various businesses in Saranda, in a value that is estimated to be around 10,000 euros per month from the sale and purchase of goods", the announcement states.

As material evidence, stacks of contraband cigarettes, plastic tobacco bags without fiscal stamps, 2 mobile phones and the Mercedes Benz type vehicle used for transportation were seized.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Saranda General Jurisdiction for further actions.
