Details have come to light from the chilling testimony of 19-year-old Hygerta Meta, who killed her father Pëllumb Meta in Durrës.
During the testimony, she said that she committed the crime in cold blood, after a hatred gathered for a long time.
"I am happy that I took this job and I do not regret that I killed him. He tortured us and blackened my mother's life. I am the youngest child in the family. The older sister is married, there are 2 brothers and then me.
Mom and I never talked in the family. The father spoke and decided about everything. He never asked us what we wanted. When he made the decision about my marriage, that's where the end came. He didn't listen to what I wanted. I harbored a hatred for a long time. On the day of the event, we did not conflict at all. I took the gun Dad used when he went to work as a guard and shot him inside the cattle shed.
After the crime, I wrapped him in a sheet, then bandages, and finally a bag. I threw the gun by the sea," she said.
How the murder was discovered:
A missing person report to the police revealed a rather serious incident of domestic crime. The Durrës police, after 10 days of searching for the disappearance of a 50-year-old man, discovered that we are dealing with a murder.
The serious incident took place in the village of Shënavlash in Durrës, where the head of the family, Pëllumb Meta, was found shot dead and buried in the yard of the Meta family.
In connection with this crime, the police have arrested the victim's daughter, 19-year-old Hygerta Meta, a student in Tirana for business, who, according to preliminary police data, has admitted to being the author of her father's murder.
According to the girl's testimony, she motivated her father's murder with the fact that the latter tried to betroth her against her will. The objections to this engagement, according to the girl, have pushed her to undertake the serious act of killing her father and burying him in the backyard.
The crime was committed with a pistol, which the victim kept in the apartment without permission and according to the testimony of the 19-year-old, after committing the crime, she threw it in the "Youth" section of the beach. There the girl had also left her father's vehicle to lose track.
Meanwhile, the investigation group set up for this event suspects that the girl may have been helped to commit this crime and bury the victim by other family members who are thought to have been aware of the crime, but did not tell.
