The Greek media have revealed new details from the serious event that took place in Volos, Greece, where a 22-year-old Albanian woman was raped and attempted to be killed by the man, who is 28-year-old Aurel Kurti from Korça.
The couple has a young child.
"The woman and her child, who lived the abuse from his mother's womb, lived inside a closed house" writes "Zougla".
"Upon arriving from Albania in Volos, her husband forbade the 22-year-old to have any contact with the outside world. He beat her severely when the gender of the child was revealed as she did not want a girl and beatings were the 22-year-old's daily routine.
When the child was born, they lived for five months with closed doors. Mother and baby never saw the light of day.
Only in the courtyard were they allowed to go out after five months.
The violence was daily and the mother was neither allowed to visit the doctor for the child's vaccinations nor to call a doctor at home," the Greek media continued.
Yesterday evening and as the woman screamed, neighbors came outside the house and knocked on the door while calling the police. The 28-year-old opened the back door to escape, but the neighbors stopped him and handed him over to the police.
The mother, bleeding and with strangulation marks, took the child in her arms and they were taken to the hospital. "He abused me badly, I was close to death many times.
He threatened me that if I fled to Albania he would come and kill my parents", she said in her testimony and described her husband as a man who followed the rules of the mafia.
