Albanian drug dealers who ran a group in the Eastbourne area have been handcuffed by British police.
Jonid Cufaj, Julian Cufaj and Urim Peraj were handcuffed during an action by the British police. After a long investigation, arrest warrants were executed for the Albanians, after Lewes Crown Court sentenced them on January 31.
“This was an important investigation which revealed how the group had been supplying quality drugs to Eastbourne for over a year. "Officers are determined to disrupt the supply of drugs that cause so much harm to our community and tackle the offenses and activities associated with the supply of drugs across County Lines," said Chief Inspector Di Lewis.
Investigators said 25-year-old Jonid Cufaj was a London Road worker and effectively ran the group.
His younger brother Julian Cufaj, 22, was unemployed on Southend Arterial Road, also linked to the supply of drugs in Essex.
They worked with 25-year-old Urim Peraj, also unemployed in Cavendish Avenue, who operated as a drug dealer in Eastbourne.
Jonid Cufaj, Julian Cufaj and Urim Peraj operated the "Tony" drug line in Eastbourne.
The 'Tony' line was discovered, with mobile phone messages warning customers about drugs available in Eastbourne.
Along with colleagues from Essex Police, the Metropolitan Police as part of Operation Orochi and Sussex Police's Neighborhood Enforcement Team, warrants were then carried out at four addresses.
Evidence showed how the Cufaj brothers were linked to organizing the supply and sale of high quality drugs together with Peraj. As part of the investigations, drugs and mobile phones were seized.
Jonid Cufaj was found guilty of supplying a drug from 1 January 2022 to 7 February 2023. At Lewes Crown Court on 31 January he was jailed for six and a half years.
Julian Cufaj was found guilty of the same offence, supplying cocaine between 25 November 2022 and 8 February 2022. He was sentenced to a total of five and a half years.
Urim Peraj was found guilty of being concerned in the supply of cocaine during the same period and was also sentenced to five years.
The fourth person, 39-year-old Arben Vukaj, of Mallards Road, was found not guilty of supplying cocaine, but he was found guilty of possessing cannabis and a weapon./ Top Channel
