On January 30, 2025, Viktor Jaupaj and Kujtim Metaj from Fier were arrested in Novoselë, after they had 3.4 kg. of cocaine and other drugs worth 800 thousand Euros, which they were taking for sale to Vlora.
But where and how did the two arrested residents of Fier obtain cocaine and heroin; one an employee of the state-owned company "Albpetrol" and the other a private company?
Confidential information, which "Pamfleti" has obtained from sources of the Anti-Drugs, Judicial Police and Prosecution of Vlora, which carried out their tracking and arrest, states that Viktor Jaupaj and Kujtim Metaj received the drugs from Ben Qime's group, which kept them in the warehouses of Trifon Murataj's "Bana-King" company in Fier.
According to initial investigative data, they had become part of the "Qimja-Murataj" drug group in Fier, with the role of transporting quantities of cocaine towards Vlora.
They had been carrying out this criminal activity for 8 years in exchange for payments from a share of the profits; but 6 months ago, the information went to the agents of partner services and a crackdown was requested with an organized action by Albanian agencies.
They were not affected because their bosses had close ties to police chiefs and high-ranking government officials, connected to Trifon Murataj and Ben Qimen and chained to each other, who were rewarded for allowing the storage, transportation and sale of drugs.
But this time, since his name has come up for selling cocaine and heroin, will the owner of the "Bana King" company, Trifon Murataj, be arrested and confiscated, and will his associate Arben Isufaj, known as "Ben Qimja" of Fier, be re-arrested?
Or, as is being attempted by the police, with the intervention of state officials, to hide the truth of Trifon Murataj's involvement, by putting pressure on the two arrested, Viktor Jaupaj and Kujtim Metaj, that they will be severely punished and promised "soon release" if they deny that the drugs left the warehouse of Trifon Murataj's "Bana King" company in Fier, through Ben Qime's group.
We recall that from November 2014 to November 2022, the DEA has several times informed the Albanian police, anti-drug services and justice that the banana company "Zico", known as "Bana King", has imported large quantities of cocaine into Albania with banana containers and storage in Fier, guarded by Ben Qimja.
On March 10, 2014, Ben Qimja was arrested in Fier, to be extradited to Italy as a person wanted for drug trafficking; but on March 27, 2015, the Fier Court refused his extradition and released him, while on October 5, 2021, SPAK and the Court seized and confiscated 12 assets.
On November 4, 2022, the owner of the "Bana King" company, Trifon Murataj, was wanted for drug trafficking, but the state police knew that he was staying at the Bashkim Ulaj towers and moving freely in Tirana and was not arrested.
On December 8, 2024, after 2 years of being allegedly wanted, the Prosecution and Court of Durres lifted the "Arrest with Imprisonment" measure from the trafficker Trifon Murataj and left him with "Compulsory Appearance".
The High Prosecutorial Council, the High Judicial Council, and neither the opposition nor the majority reacted to this scandal; it would not be surprising if the "Bana King" company sponsored new justice activities, just as it sponsors the DP, the SP, and their media./ Pamphlet
