A 46-year-old Albanian was sentenced to 13 years in prison by a court in Thessaloniki, accused of killing his 50-year-old compatriot last year.
According to the Greek media, the conflict between them happened near a gas station in the area of Analipsi, Thessaloniki.
The motive for the murder, which was committed last year in July, seems to have been the victim's suspicion that the defendant was flirting with his partner.
The judges found the 46-year-old man guilty of manslaughter. In his testimony, the 46-year-old claimed that he killed the 50-year-old in self-defense because the victim made a threatening move towards him, hitting him with hands and keys.
"He threatened me, blackmailed me, insulted me...", he said describing the situations that had preceded the event in question.
During the fight outside the gas station, the 46-year-old said he tried to calm the 50-year-old.
"I raised my gun to scare him, I shot to scare him ," he says.
The video from the security camera at the scene, which filmed the entire event, was published in court.
