AMP has suspended two Traffic Police officers for abuse of duty. It is about Arta Shurbi, 50 years old, and Zyber Halili, 57 years old, with the duty of the Service Corps at the Tirana Traffic Police Station.
32-year-old Denisa Gerdeci, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Driving a vehicle in an irregular manner", has been put in criminal proceedings.
It is suspected that the police officers did not perform the appropriate procedural actions in accordance with the Road Code, for handling an accident on the Karreç - Tirana road axis.
From the conducted investigations, it appears that even though they were aware of the incident, they hid the evidence and criminal facts about the accident, not taking measures to determine the guilt, to avoid the offender from criminal and administrative responsibility.
"The Police Surveillance Agency, after an in-depth investigation in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has executed the criminal decision of this Court, which has decided:
1. The security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" and "Prohibition of leaving the country" for A.SH, 50 years old, with the duty of Service Corps at the Tirana Traffic Police Station, suspected of committing the criminal offense, "Misuse of duty carried out in collaboration";
2. The security measure "Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service" for ZH, 57 years old, with the duty of Service Corps at the Tirana Traffic Police Station, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Misuse of duty carried out in cooperation".
Also, within the framework of this criminal proceeding, the Court has decided "Investigation in a free state" for the citizen DG, 32 years old, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Driving a vehicle in an irregular manner".
It is suspected that the police officers did not perform the appropriate procedural actions in accordance with the Road Code, for handling an accident on the Karreç - Tirana road axis.
