Journalist Ferdinand Dervishi has spoken about organized crime, calling '97 a year with many unsolved crimes.
"In 1997, there are many unsolved and undiscovered crimes. Everyone wants justice. Every family that has a nail wants justice," he said.
How do you see organized crime from 1997 to today?
"Those who are in alliance with politics are active. Those who have problems with righteousness have fled to Dubai. The situation is dire. The current government has not been able to separate the crime. Crime is in an alarming situation", he added.
From south to north where are the most powerful gangs?
"The most powerful are in the Durrës segment of Tirana, they have terrible political influence. The word is heard more. Kruja field is problematic. It was conceived by the most powerful gangs in Albania as a place where they could be supplied. A whole police station has flourished there, from these elements we talked about who are ready to do very serious things", declared Dervishi.
A strong criminal group has been hit in Shkodër. Bajraj, who also had elements of psychopathy. The segment Tirana Durrës, something Elbasani and Fushë Kruja are always at the top. Even Vlora has some old gangs with heritage, but they are not recognized. Berat is calm, Korça is calm. It continues that the most victims that come as a result come from the traffic of hard drugs."
Organized crime or mafia, who is widespread in Albania?
"I believe that the mafia, at the moment we call it a mafia group, is in control of politics. Until the moment when the Albanian politics seem to me to line up a little, we will not have a mafia. There are powerful criminal groups. Recently, several groups have come together, for example, for Vis Martinaj, several groups have come together to hit him. Families with mafia features have existed and continue to move things in the shadows for a long time. Mafia is a very big organization. I believe we don't have it", the journalist said further.
