A 36-year-old Albanian man was arrested by the Italian police for attempted murder after hitting his ex-partner's boyfriend on the head with a hammer.

 It is reported that the 33-year-old man of North African origin has received serious head injuries.

Meanwhile, he was immediately taken to the hospital and is currently in serious condition, local media write .

The event happened yesterday (April 28) in the city of Prato, Italy.

According to the police investigation, it is known that the attack happened only because of jealousy.
