
Three Romanian citizens have been declared wanted by the Albanian police, after several weeks of investigations, from which it was discovered that the group stole monetary amounts by interfering with the computer systems of ATMs, but also by producing cloned cards and stolen cards .
According to the police, the wanted persons are Florin Oprinoiu, Marian Mihai and Adrian Simoiu as they are accused of stealing 5 million Lek.
The blue uniforms clarify that the ATMs of the two financial institutions in our country are often damaged with strong tools to open the way for interference in their systems.
From December 9, 2023 to January 6, the three Romanians managed to commit theft in 4 cases, while in 2 other cases, despite the attempt, they failed to steal money.
"Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Cybercrimes in the DVP Tirana, in the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, following the investigations for the documentation of the events that occurred on 09.12.2023 and 06.01.2024, where several ATMs of financial institutions in Tirana were attempted and stolen, they immediately organized the work to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of the suspected authors of this criminal activity.
As a result of the intensive investigations carried out, the following citizens have been identified and declared wanted: FO, 51 years old, MM, 45 years old, AS, 20 years old, all three Romanian citizens and residents in Romania.
From the intensive investigative actions carried out, it was found that these citizens, on 09.12.2023 and 06.01.2024, attempted to steal and also stole, by interfering with computer systems, with cloned cards, cards stolen in the states foreigners and damaging some ATMs in Tirana, sums of money, in some ATMs in the capital. Also, from the investigative actions carried out, it has been found that these citizens are the authors of 2 pending cases, 1 theft on 06.01.2024, and 3 other thefts, which occurred on 09.12.202.
DVP Tirana invites citizens to provide information about the perpetrators of this event and sets a reward of 5,000 euros for any valuable information that will lead to the capture of the perpetrators. The Tirana Local Police Directorate makes available to citizens the phone numbers +355 69 41 55 554, and +355 69 41 12 208, guaranteeing the complete anonymity of each caller ," the police announced.
Meanwhile, the police continue the investigations for the complete documentation of these criminal events and the identification of other possible perpetrators involved in this activity.
