But in order to understand what are the faults in his father's life, it is appropriate to go back in time, to the evil year 1997. The year when Sokol Sinomataj, at that time the age of his now deceased son, was involved in the gang led by 'Gaxhai', real name Gazmir Brakaj.
One of the most emblematic characters of crime during this year in the city, but also later with his exploits.
A crime faction in the city severely disturbed by the lack of order and security and numerous murders, fighting against another rival gang, the one led by Zani Çaushi.
War between two gangs that had brought many people killed in the city, where not even police officers were spared. Who, as soon as order was established in the city, would face justice, and would suffer their punishments for the crimes committed.
As well as Sokol Sinomataj, who was in the dock as part of the 'Gaxhai' gang.
Sokol Sinomataj, known by the nickname 'Buzëderri', has a criminal past as a member of Gazmir Braka's gang, known as 'Gaxhai'.
Gazmir (Gazmend) Braka (Gaxhai), Armando Sulejmani (Chipuri), Sokol Sinomataj (Buzëderri), Edmond Leskaj (Mond Fshatari) and Gazmend Nebiu were part of this gang.
The accusations against this gang are related to the premeditated murders of the citizens Sadik Kurti, Avdul Bajrami, Dhimitraq Mishka, Zihni Haruni, Robert Myftari, the violent theft to the detriment of the citizens Artur Pashaj, Vladimir Mema and Flamur Xhelaj, as well as murder due to special qualities. of police officer Viron Rrapaj.
Exactly one of the murders where Sokol Sinomataj was also present, is that of the police officer, Viron Rrapaj. Although Sinomataj did not shoot at the employee of the Vlorë police station, according to the data provided by the investigation file in charge of the 'Gaxhai' gang, he was present at the moment when the police post was surrounded by gang members criminal.
Everything, according to this file, happened on May 11, 1997. And it came after many other crimes that the 'Gaxhai' gang had committed in the city, but also the intensification of the rivalry with the Zani Çaushi gang.

According to the evidence that came out during the investigation, it turns out that the Police had information that the gangs operating in the city would attack the Police Station to take the armored vehicles from there.
In the beginning, around 11:00 on May 11, 1997, three or four armed people went to the police station.
One of them introduced himself as 'Gaxhai' and asked to get in touch with the police leaders and get the blinds to protect himself from Zani.
After a few minutes, several cars arrived in front of the Police Station and about 30-40 armed people got out of them and entered the Police Station yard.
But upon going to the Vlora police station, it seems that the 'Gaxhai' gang encountered the opposition of the police officers who were there at that moment, who refused to hand over their blindfolds.
But while it seems that everything was closed there and the gang was quietly retreating from the police station, one of the most dangerous members of the criminal group, known as 'Kakami', shoots and kills the police officer, Viron Rrapaj, at the door of the police station.
While the witnesses in the trial identified Sokol Sinomataj, among others, as being present during the attack on the police.
The police officer, Haxhi Dersha, explained to the members of the criminal group that they could not take the armored vehicles.
After clarifying, the armed persons withdrew from the police station.
But leaving the courtyard of the Police Station, Alfred Nebiu (Kakami) saw the policeman Viron Rrapaj at the internal door of the Police Station and shot at him, killing him.
In addition to Alfred, the IB declarant and other people who were present there were able to recognize the gang members, the defendant Gazmir Braka (Gaxhain), Sokol Sinomataj and Armando Sulejmani, who when the event took place had an argument with police officer Andrea Kanani to take the bulletproof vest.
But these were not the only macabre crimes that the 'Gaxhai' gang, of which Sokol Sinomataj was a member, was committing in the meantime in Vlora and its surroundings.

Ndërkohë që nga ky shkëmbim zjarrit mbeti i plagosur dhe vetë Robert Boraku.
Vetëm tri ditë më pas, konkretisht më 19 Qershor 1997, Robert dhe Niko Boraku së bashku me personin e njohur si ‘Gaxhai’, kanë vrarë dhe më pas kanë djegur trupin e shtetasit Dhimitraq Mishka, kufoma e të cilit u gjend në vendin e quajtur Shamogjin.
Sipas hetimeve rezulton se ditën e ngjarjes, banda e ‘Gaxhait’ ka shkuar dhe e ka marrë viktimën në fshatin Mëkat tek klubi i vëllait të tij Andrea Mishka.
Më pas ata e kanë çuar në qendër të fshatit Cerkovinë ku dhe e kanë torturuar. Më tej ata e kanë ekzekutuar në bazën eksperimentale në Shamogjin dhe më pas e kanë djegur kufomën.
Por aktiviteti kriminal i bandës ka qenë aq i vrullshëm, sa ata kanë kryer tortura dhe vrasje të ngjashme, edhe brenda një dite.
Rezulton se në të njëjtën ditë kur rrëmbyen dhe ekzekutuan shtetasin Dhimitraq Mishka, banda mori peng dhe vrau shtetasin Zini Haruni.
I cili edhe ky pasi u torturua u vra në fshatin Cerkovinë ku ishte edhe baza e bandës së ‘Gaxhait’.
Po në këtë datë, pra më 19 Qershor 1997 nga ana e bandës së ‘Gaxhait’, u krye një tjetër krim.
Sipas të dhënave që dolën edhe nga hetimi, në vendin e quajtur Shamogjin pranë një karburanti, anëtarët e bandës rrëmbyen shtetasit Zini Haruni dhe Ardian Tase, të cilët ndërkohë ishin duke udhëtuar nga Fieri për në Vlorë.
Pasi lëshuan Ardianin, ata morën me një furgon të bardhë Ziniun dhe e çuan në fshatin Cerkovinë, të cilin e vranë një ditë më pas tek punishtja e mermerit pranë këtij fshati.
Në lidhje me këtë vrasje u arrit të provohej se ‘Gaxhai’ së bashku me pjesëtarët e tjerë të organizatës së tij kriminale, vranë për hakmarrje shtetasin Zini Haruni, për shkak të rivalitetit me grupin e Zani Çaushit.
Emri i Sokol Sinomataj në këto sipërmarrje kriminale, del më qartë edhe në ekzekutimin e Robert Myftarit, i cili u qëllua në makinën e tij ndërsa po udhëtonte me bashkëshorten.
Ishte vetë viktima i cili para se të jepte shpirt në spital i kishte rrëfyer së shoqes, se njëri nga ata që e qëlluan ishte Sokol Sinomataj, ‘Buzëderri’, i bandës së ‘Gaxhait’.
Një tjetër vrasje e kryer nga banda e ‘Gaxhait’, ku sërish motivet dalin të jenë rivaliteti midis grupeve kriminale, është dhe ajo e shtetasit Robert Myftari.
Kështu më datë 8 Gusht 1997 në vendin e quajtur ‘Skelë’ pranë lokalit ‘Miami’ në Vlorë, i pandehuri Sokol Sinomataj ka qëlluar me armë zjarri kundrejt shtetasit Robert Myftari, i cili gjatë kësaj kohe ishte duke udhëtuar me makinë me gruan e tij Amarilda Halili.
Sipas dëshmisë së gruas së viktimës, ngjarja ka ndodhur rreth orës 20.30 të kësaj dite, kur makina e tyre u ndalua nga disa persona.
Të cilët ajo rrëfeu se pasi ata ndaluan makinën, një prej personave të armatosur tha se ky qenka Berti i Shaveres, një nga ata të ‘Çoles’, lagje në Vlorë ku kishte qendrën banda e Zanit.
Vetë Robert Myftari para se të humbte jetën në spital, i tregoi gruas se një nga ata që e qëlloi ishte Sokol ‘Buzëderri’ i bandës së ‘Gaxhait’
Një tjetër episod dhune që lidhet sërish me ngjarjet e vitit 1997, ku del të jetë i përfshirë Sokol Sinomataj ‘Buzëderri’ është edhe ai i qershorit të këtij viti.
Ai që e identifikoi ndër të tjerë, ishte një punonjës i policisë.
Gjatë gjykimit arritëm të provojmë se pjesëtarë të bandës së ‘Gaxhait’, kanë vjedhur me dhunë shtetasin Ardian Skënderi.
Dëshmi të cilat ky shtetas i dha edhe para kësaj gjykate në seancën e datës 7 Shkurt 2006.
‘…Në qershor të vitit 1997 kam qenë me grupin e gatshëm të Drejtorisë së Policisë Vlorë. Ka qenë fillimi i qershorit të këtij viti, kur po udhëtoja në një furgon në të cilin ndodheshin dhe tre persona të tjerë. Por pa arritur në fshatin Shamogjin pranë Institutit, vura re se na dolën përpara tre persona të armatosur dhe me maska. Njëri prej tyre u afrua dhe më kërkoi armën por nuk e kisha me vete, ndërsa tjetri më tha: ‘Na falni shef por situatën e kemi ne nën kontroll’.
Unë me vete në atë moment kisha 168 000 lekë të rrogës të cilat mi mori personi që komunikoi me mua. Ndërsa dy të tjerët qëndronin në distancë me automatik në dorë. Gjatë bisedës njëri prej tyre më qëlloi me qytën e armës në nofull. Në këtë moment unë arrita të njoh njërin prej personave që ishte Sokol Sinomataj (Buzëderri)
Një tjetër episod kriminal, ku edhe këtu del emri i Sokol Sinomataj dhe që vazhdon të lidhet me aktivitetin e tij në kuadër të bandës së Gaxhait, gjatë vitit 1997, është ai edhe i grabitjes me dhunë, të një automjeti.
Por që fatmirësisht në këtë rast nuk pati të lënduar si në rastet e ngjashme, ku banda kishte bërë kërdinë duke torturuar dhe vrarë njerëz të pafajshëm jo vetëm me mendimin për t’i grabitur, apo edhe në dyshimet se ata ishin pjesë e bandave rivale në qytet.
Në fund të muajit Prill të vitit 1997 pranë Bashkisë Vlorë disa persona të armatosur i kanë marrë me forcë në kërcënimin e armëve automjetin shtetasit Artur Pashai.
Ky shtetas ka mundur të identifikojë si persona të armatosur të pandehurin Edmond Leskaj, Sokol Sinomataj dhe Armando Sulejmani.
Automjeti në momentin që është marrë nga tre të pandehurit ka qenë duke u drejtuar nga shtetasi Enver Gjoni edhe ky punonjës i firmës rentiere ‘Vefa’ si dhe pronari i makinës, shtetasi Artur Pashai.
Por me gjithë këto krime të përbindshme, edhe pse Prokuroria kërkoi dënim të përjetshëm për Sokol Sinomataj. në përfundim të gjykimit, Gjykata e Lartë e cilësoi fajtor vetëm për vjedhje me dhunë.
