Tirana Police have provided details of yesterday's robbery at a Level Two bank, where a 61-year-old man entered armed and took a sum of money.
It is learned that Bardhyl Fusha managed to obtain 8 million old lek from the FiBank branch.
"Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes against Property and Life, in cooperation with the services of the Police Commissariat No. 2, arrested citizen BF, 61 years old, after yesterday, on "Muhedin Llagami" street, he entered the premises of a bank, with an automatic firearm, and took 800,000 lek. As material evidence, the firearm and the amount of stolen money were seized," the police say.
In today's announcement by the capital's police, it is explained that Fusha entered this bank with an automatic firearm, and after threatening the employees of the financial institution, he robbed the money.
He was handcuffed as soon as he left the bank door, after the police patrol was alerted by the employees. As soon as the police called him to surrender, Fusha dropped his gun and the bag of money and obeyed the officers without any resistance.
It is suspected that Bardhyl Fusha, originally from Librazhd, was an entrepreneur in the construction field who operated in Tirana, where he lived, but in recent years has faced major financial problems.
He was 'not very invested' in the robbery scenario, as he entered the premises monitored by cameras, unmasked.
He is suspected of having been prosecuted several other times, after being accused by clients of owing them money. It seems that debts were the reason he took this action, which landed him behind bars.
