SPAK, in cooperation with Finnish law enforcement authorities, targeted the structures of criminal groups trafficking synthetic drugs.

SPAK prosecutors announced that two of the group's leaders are originally from Vlora, while two others are from Kuçova and Berat, but are residing in Tirana.

According to reports, one of the group leaders is a history teacher in Albania, with no criminal record.

The SPAK operation was finalized in the early hours of this morning, while previously 55 people had been targeted in Finland, 10 of whom were of Albanian origin or citizenship, as part of criminal groups that distributed synthetic drugs in the Scandinavian country.

" A characteristic of these groups was their cooperation with each other. Some of the leaders of the groups had previously been prosecuted in Finland, and were not identified in Albania. After returning to Albania, they directed the activity from Albania or other EU countries. This was also one of the results of the joint investigation, from the information obtained in real time was transmitted to the Finnish authorities. Two of the leaders of the criminal groups are originally from Vlora. The rest concentrated in Kuçova and Berat. Some of these are settled in Tirana ," said SPAK prosecutor Alfred Shehu.
