
A police officer in Kukës has been arrested by the AMP after causing an accident that injured three people.
According to information, the arrested person held the position of Chief of Logistics at the Kukë Police Station. The police officer was driving while intoxicated at the time he caused the accident on the Milot-Morinë road.
"The Police Supervision Agency (Shkodra - Lezhë Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer ID, acting as Head of Logistics at the Kukës DVKM, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Drunk Driving" and "Violation of Road Traffic Rules", provided for in articles 290/1 and 291 of the Criminal Code.
His arrest was carried out after yesterday evening at around 20:00, while driving his vehicle on the Milot - Morinë road, he was involved in an accident, which resulted in injuries to the passengers of the other vehicle, citizen XH.H., and the minor children citizens ZB and SB, who are in the Trauma Hospital, out of danger to their lives.
After verification with the alcohol test, it resulted positive at 1.00 mg/l and 0.98 mg/l.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Lezha," the police statement said.
