Tirana Police have arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the violent incident that occurred on the evening of July 4 near Police Station No. 3.

The police explain that in cooperation with the prosecution, 12 people who participated in the violent acts have been identified, of whom 4 have been declared wanted and the others are being investigated at large.

On the evening of July 4, the situation near Police Station No. 3 escalated into violence. During the incidents, the police station building was hit, its windows were broken, and there were clashes with police officers. 

The materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecution Office for criminal offenses related to public calls for violent actions, destruction of property, assault in the line of duty, resisting a police officer, disobeying a lawful order, disturbing public order and peace, organizing illegal gatherings, and obstructing the movement of vehicles. 

"Investigations continue into the rally held on July 4, 2026 at Police Station No. 3 in Tirana.

The State Police announces that, within the framework of investigative actions carried out in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, one person has been arrested, seven others have been criminally prosecuted and four people suspected of involvement in violent acts have been declared wanted.

According to the Police, during the protest, violence was used against Police officers and the Police Station building. As a result of the investigations, a total of 12 suspects involved in these actions were identified.
Following the procedures:
• a 33-year-old citizen was detained on his own initiative;
• citizens with the initials KM, VK, EL, Sh.B., VD, EN and BK were criminally prosecuted while at large;
• four citizens were declared wanted, whose identities have not been made public due to the ongoing investigations.

The police inform that the investigation group is continuing its work to identify other persons who may have been involved in the violent acts and to bring them to legal responsibility.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana for the criminal offenses: "Public call for violent actions", "Destruction of property", "Hitting due to duty", "Opposition of a police officer", "Disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer", "Disturbance of public order and peace", "Organization and participation in illegal gatherings and demonstrations" and "Obstruction of the circulation of means of transport", the police announce.
