So far, the investigation team has only managed to obtain images of the perpetrator's car and that of the victim from security cameras at a gas station. Sources for Report TV indicate that the moment of the two vehicles passing by can be seen in the footage.
The perpetrators followed the victim and then shot him, approaching him with their lights on and trying to overtake him. In the testimonies collected by the investigation team, witnesses reported that initially a shot was heard and then the perpetrators' car with its lights on overtook the car driven by Kristian Marku, and then they shot him.
The braking and screeching of vehicle tires were heard on the highway, and after the perpetrators shot Mark at least 13 times, his car crashed into the traffic divider several times.

Kristian Marku was executed on the Fier-Vlora axis on the afternoon of January 13, 2025, while the perpetrators, who are suspected of being 3, ambushed him on the Novosela overpass. The perpetrators burned the 'Golf' type vehicle about 1 km from the scene of the incident and then allegedly fled towards Fier. The perpetrators' vehicle had stolen license plates, while the crime weapon was not found inside it.
The execution of 30-year-old Kristian Marku from Rrëshen is suspected to be related to the clash between two tribes of Mirdita, Reçi and Bardhi.
