The police provide details about the murder of the 72-year-old man in Memaliaj, who was found dead in an abyss.
The blue uniforms point out that the 72-year-old's body was found to have injuries caused by a cutting tool.
With regard to the author, who is still on the run, the police say that they are continuing checks on the ground and in the premises where it is suspected that he may be hiding.
"The quick professional and investigative actions at the scene, carried out by the special investigative group, make it possible to clarify the circumstances and the cause of the loss of the 72-year-old's life and to identify the suspected author of his murder.
In order to preserve investigative secrecy and capture the suspected author, we are not making his details public, until the moment of capture and arrest.
From the investigative actions so far and from the preliminary medical expertise, suspected injuries caused by a cutting tool were found on the body of the 72-year-old. These injuries are suspected to have caused the loss of life of the FA citizen
The Police Services continue the field checks and premises where the perpetrator is suspected to be hiding.
Meanwhile, the special investigation group, under the direction of the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office, is working on the complete legal documentation of the case. The event was highly evaluated by the Police and worked with professionalism, commitment which led to the clarification of the event.
All actions on the ground were directed and followed by the Director of the Local Police Directorate Gjirokastër, together with the 2 deputy directors of DVP Gjirokastër, the Chief of the Serious Crimes Section, the Chief of the Tepelena Police Station, the Chief of the Memaliaj Police Station and other leaders of DVP Gjirokastër", the police announced.
