Following the assassination attempt on June 30 in Pogradec, where Brian Syzo was seriously injured, the Police have arrested Edison Agolli, 22 years old, who was wanted as a suspected accomplice in the incident.
According to sources close to the investigation group, the 22-year-old was arrested the day before by the Criminal Investigation structures at the Korça Local Police Directorate. Preliminary investigations indicate that he was with his brother, Nikolla Agolli, and two other people at the time of the alleged attempt to kill Brian Syzo with a firearm.
Edison Agolli was declared wanted immediately after the incident, and he is charged with "premeditated murder, committed for profit or revenge", attempted and committed in collaboration.
According to investigative sources, his arrest is related not only to the assassination attempt in Pogradec, but also to another episode that is being investigated, that of the placement of a camera near the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions in Drenova, which was allegedly used to monitor Brian Syzo's movements.
Meanwhile, Brian Syzo himself has also been arrested. Sources indicate that the measure is related to a final decision upheld by the Court of Appeal, which confirms the decision of the Pogradec Court of First Instance in 2023.
Syzo has been sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offense of "production and sale of narcotics", a sentence which he will now serve in prison.
