Police have ruled out an accidental death in the death of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi.

As more than 48 hours have passed since the shooting death of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi, journalist Elton Qyno has revealed new details from the serious incident that occurred in the Salaria area of Tepelena.

Through several cameras from businesses that conduct commercial activities on the roadside, the Gjirokastra police have managed to identify the person suspected of this incident, but his name has not yet been made public.

The presence of this person originally from Vlora was also testified by the main witness, Gazmend Braçi, friend and partner of the victim Edoardo Sarchi. According to Braçi's testimony, they, together with the Italian citizen and their father, were driving in their cars in the Salaria area, as they had planned a hunting trip for the weekend.

"...while walking, another vehicle that was moving during the night hours on the road, started to flash its high beams at us, causing us concern. This person then overtook us, seriously insulting us. We cursed at him, but he told us his name, which we could not remember, addressing us with the words "...I am so-and-so (he told us his name) I am from Vlora, I am not asking about anyone..." - said Gazmend Braçi at the Gjirokastra police.

Then this person from Vlora continued on his way down the mountain slope. While the other people who had gone out hunting continued on their way up. But one of the cars ran out of fuel and they stopped in the middle of the road, getting out of their vehicles and standing there.

Gazmend Braçi called another person to bring him fuel. While they were standing on the road, three gunshots came from below the road, one of the bullets hitting the Italian citizen, while another hit one of the car's tires.

Journalist Elton Qyno has learned that Gazmend Braçi called his brother, Danjel Braçi, to come from Vlora to Selenica, after they had been shot.

Danjeli was not at the scene of the shootings but was in Vlora. He went to Selenica alone after receiving a call from his brother, Gazmendi.

Police have seized several video footage from the fuel stations in Tepelena that show Danjel Braçi moving at midnight to the crime scene.

This serious incident is currently being investigated by a group of Serious Crimes officers at the State Police and two prosecutors from Gjirokastra.

Meanwhile, yesterday, the prosecution administered to the investigation file the forensic medical examination report compiled by three experts, who concluded that the cause of death of Italian Edoardi Sarchi was blood hemorrhage, after the bullet severed the main artery in his leg, causing immediate bleeding.

On the other hand, throughout yesterday, several police officers searched the area with metal detectors, in the hope of finding gun casings.

This process has brought difficulties because members of the investigation team, as well as the witnesses themselves, have not been able to determine the exact location from which a gun was fired at them.
