The Turin police have destroyed an organization run by two Albanian brothers. The group imported cocaine from South America and cannabis from Spain.
They had also tested a submarine to use in the future to transport narcotics.
The drug trafficking organization had branches in different countries: Ecuador, Belgium, France, Albania, Spain and Italy.
Turin police arrested six members of the gang. Three other people were arrested abroad.
The arrests were made in Italy in the provinces of Turin and Frosinone and in Albania, in cooperation with the Office of the Security Expert in Tirana and the Interpol National Central Office of the Albanian Police.
The group was based in the province of Turin, and operated between Ecuador, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy.
The group is suspected of supplying major Italian drug trafficking centers with significant quantities of cocaine, hashish and marijuana.
According to the findings of the Carabinieri, the organization was run by two brothers of Albanian origin, who, using considerable financial resources, recruited "drug workers" in Italy and Albania.
These collaborators had the goal of transporting and selling narcotics in the territory.
The traffickers, among other things, had designed and tested a small submarine that could be remotely piloted to transport the drugs.
The vehicle, built, had not yet been put into operation. During the investigations, conducted from November 2021 to the end of 2022, investigators intercepted several drug shipments and seized over 204 kilograms of cocaine, hashish and marijuana.
The cocaine most likely arrived in Italy from South America, passing through the Netherlands, while the rest passed through Spain and France, using cars equipped with homemade double floors.
