Three police officers and a customs officer from the Hani i Hoti Border Crossing Point were arrested by the Police Supervision Agency, as part of an investigation for abuse of office.
The arrested suspects allegedly allowed a truck to pass through Montenegro two years ago, where over 440 kg of cannabis sativa were found by Montenegrin authorities.
From the information, it is learned that the arrested are Lekë Çekrezi, Fatjon Hamzi, Tonin Melaj and Selami Ethemi.

AMP executes 4 arrest warrants for three police officers and a customs officer
Following several months of investigations into the criminal proceedings of 2023, the Police Supervision Agency (Shkodra - Lezhë Region) in cooperation with the Customs Investigation Directorate and the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Shkodra, has executed detention orders for three police officers and a customs officer, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

The detention orders come after in-depth investigations using special methods regarding the event of 17/09/2023, where a truck with Albanian license plates, after completing the exit procedures from the Republic of Albania through the "Hani i Hotit" Border Point, in violation of the law and standard procedures, was detained by the police of the "Bozaj" Border Crossing Point, Montenegro, after a quantity of 442,084 kg of the suspected narcotic substance "Cannabis Sativa" was found in the truck.
