The full dynamics of the attack in Memaliaj, where 3 people were killed and another one was injured, is clarified.
The event happened around 11:20 p.m., where armed men opened fire at the bar where Shyqyri Kalemi and Artur Kalemi, the father and uncle of Andrea Kalemi, a well-known name in the world of crime, were sitting. It is suspected that his past is the cause of this assassination. Shyqyri Kalemi died immediately, while his brother was injured.
The two brothers were having a coffee at the tables outside the bar. It seems the authors have been informed of their presence. The perpetrators were in a black car. They came from the center of Memaliaj and went to the bar near the municipality. One of them got out of the car and fired a volley of canisters at the target, who is suspected to be Shyqyri Kalemi. Then the perpetrators left for Mallakastra, where in the village of Bejaj they also burned the vehicle used in the crime.
But the killers did not spare the innocent either, as Gledio Muka, 36 years old, and Marsel Çela, 47 years old, the first waiter in the bar and the other customer, died. It is learned that both of them, unfortunately, were near the table where the Kalemi brothers were. From the footage at the scene, it appears that the bullets have made the glass "shatter". The suspicions are that at least 3 perpetrators participated in the assassination.
The investigation group is investigating the continuation of the saga of the murders of Aleksandër Sadikaj and Edmond Papa as one of the tracks of today's assassination. The police suspect that Andrea Adriatik Kalemi is suspected of being involved in the murder of Edmond Papa in December 2022, while Sadikaj, who was killed earlier with tritol inside the car, was a relative of the Kalemi brothers.
" At around 11:20 p.m., in neighborhood no. 3, Memaliaj, in the bar belonging to citizen KK, in circumstances still unclear, citizens Sh. K., 74 years old, MC, 47 years old and GM, 36 years old, and the citizen AK, 57 years old, was injured and was transported to the hospital to receive medical help. The Police Services, upon receiving the notification, immediately went to the scene and set up checkpoints in cooperation with the Local Police Directorate of Fier, Berat, Vlora. Renea Special Forces, National Security Forces, as well as senior leaders of the General Directorate of the State Police have gone to Memaliaj. In the meantime, a special investigative group has been set up under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office and with experts from the Criminal Police Department, where they continue to work at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the event, identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the perpetrators immediately after the incident left quickly in the direction of Mallakastra with a vehicle which they allegedly burned in the village of Bejaj, Mallakastra. The National Security Forces and Renea have gone to the place where the vehicle is burning, have surrounded the area and continue the control to catch the perpetrators ", the police announced.
