Today marks 30 days since the start of daily protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office, a civic movement that began as opposition to the development project in Zvërnec and that over the weeks has transformed into a broader revolt against the government and the political class.
On the same day, Tirana Police announced the criminal prosecution of 31 citizens for the rally held the day before in the capital. According to the police, they are suspected of the criminal offenses of "Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings and demonstrations", "Disturbing public peace" and "Obstructing the movement of means of transport".
The official announcement states that the proceedings were carried out following the procedural actions for yesterday's protest, while the materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.

Protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office have continued daily for the past month. They began over objections to the Zvërnec project, but then expanded into demands against corruption, the government, and what protesters describe as a failed political system.
