The attack with three killed in Memaliaj seems to be in the wake of the saga of executions after the murder of Aleksandër Sadikaj and Edmond Papa. It is suspected that the target of the murder was Andrea Klemit's father.
But how was Kalemi involved in Sadikaj's murder?
Just two days before he was executed on June 11, 2022 in Tirana, very close to the rotation of TEG, Alekandër Sadikaj, was in the city of Saranda.
The young man turns out to have slept in the "Blues Sky" hotel, which is owned by Edmond Papa and the latter's brother Kristo Qirici. This relationship, but also evidence collected by the police, has proven that Sadikaj and Edmond Papa knew each other well.
But due to the debts incurred as a result of the purchase of 100 kg of hashish in Memaliaj, the relationship between the two friends had become contradictory.
In addition to the arrested Albano Velo and Andrew Bode, another name appeared on the scene of the investigation as a suspect who may have a hand in this event. It is about Adriatik alias Andrea Kalemi, who is the son of Aleksandër Sadikaj's uncle.
According to the analysis made by the police and the prosecutor's office in January of this year, it turned out that Andrea Kalemi has close social ties with the two arrested persons, Albano Velo and Andrew Bode, where together they frequented bars and traveled abroad.
This person but also other individuals, family members of the victim Aleksandër Sadikaj, on the operational road, allegedly had constant suspicions that the murder of Sadikaj was organized in the city of Saranda, precisely in the hotel where he had slept two days before being executed with tritol in the car.
In continuation of these suspicions, family members and people from the circle, accompanied by Aleksandër Sadikaj, have engaged privately to find out details with the aim of revenge for the murder of their relative, where Edmond Papa, was the main person suspected as the author and organizer of of this serious crime that occurred on June 11, 2022.
Based on this situation, 6 months after Sadikaj's murder, the execution of Edmond Papa in Tirana was decided. His murder was committed while he was alone in the premises of a cafe and the Pope was drinking coffee, this event happened on December 16, 2022. He was shot with a pistol several times at a short distance, causing severe wounds. For this crime, the police were able to arrest Albano Velo, the son of a former Police employee at Police Station No. 4 in Tirana, and announced the search for Andreë Bode.
These murders then led to a long saga of revenge:
June 11, 2022 - Aleksandër Sadikaj is killed in a remote control explosion. The 27-year-old was Kalem's cousin. Sadikaj was driving on the axis known as Sauk-TEG. The perpetrators allegedly placed a substantial amount of 150 grams of tritol controlled by remote control in the front of the car which was activated while moving.
December 16, 2022 - Six months later, Sarandiot businessman Edmond Papa is killed in Tirana. The murder was revenge for the murder of Sadikaj. Arrested for his execution is Andrea Kalemi's friend Albano Velo, while another friend Andreë Bode is wanted. Kalem's name is also mentioned in the investigation file.
On August 9, 2023, Andrea Kalemi escaped the assassination attempt on the Greek island of Pax, while he was on vacation with his 3 children and his wife.
On December 14, 2023, Andrea Kalemi was stabbed in the "Koridhalos" prison in Greece. According to the Greek media, the author was a 28-year-old Egyptian.
On January 8, 2024, the Tirana Prosecutor's Office completes the investigations and submits the criminal file against Andreë Bode and Albano Velo to the court. The prosecution says that the Pope was allegedly killed in revenge for the murder of Aleksandër Sadikaj, known as 'Sanço'
On January 12, 2024, an attempt was made to kill the brother of Andrea Kalemi, also known as Adriatik Kalemi. From a moving car, a Kalashnikov was fired at the Smart in which Zamir Kalemi was traveling. The young man was wounded in the leg.
On July 20, 2024, Shyqo Kalemi, the 74-year-old father of Andrea and Zamir Kalemi, was executed in the bar. Gledio Muka and M. Çela were also killed by Kalashnikov bullets. After the crime, the perpetrators quickly left in the direction of Mallakastra with a vehicle which they allegedly burned in the village of Bejaj, Mallakastra.
